Class of 1973 thru 1980!
October 20, 2007
210 days since
our Reunion.

A “Thank You” is NOT ENOUGH for the many people who helped make this Cobra Reunion Weekend possible!

I am going to let you in on a secret. Prior to our Saturday dinner, Mr. Turner was assigned to recognize the Cobras and Community members who helped us create this memorable weekend. He forgot his list at home, and  passed the assignment to me 1 minute before the presentation!

I did not want to stumble and likely leave out a single person in this important Thank You presentation on Saturday. So, I just kept it brief as I know many of you were hungry and ready for dinner.

I would like to take this moment to extend a proper COBRA FELT THANKS to everyone who had their hand in creating this magical weekend:

Thank you to Robert Gardner for your 100’s of hours of redefining the web site, and media and music for Saturday night. I would like to thank Kris Lewis for your many hours of compiling media and music along side of Robert Gardner. The overall organization of evening was a piece of art. Kris and Robert produced an end result beyond my expectations. Thank You!

I thank your families for being patient with your commitment to this project. Stephanie Gardner, thank you for your efforts as well. I extend yet another thank you to Kris Lewis for providing marketing material for the fund raising efforts, and providing the easy listening tunes of the Jazz Band during dinner. It maybe appropriate to let everyone know you paid for this item without the financial assistance of
Alumni and Turner Weideman Educational Fund.

Laura and Roger Green, from the get go – you were there to offer financial support by helping me locate a place for the party and giving the venue the required monetary deposit. I also thank you for the beautiful center pieces which accented each table on the 20th. Thank you Laura for your continual feedback concerning the various details for this Cobra Weekend, and your input on the teacher invites.  Thank you to Sky Green for doing a great job by turning up the volume for this Cobra party!

Duffy Roush - This event was created around the fond memories Ralph had of you, and many other students! Over the years, I sensed Ralph would climb the highest mountain to see you again. I know he felt you were more of a  son, and it gave Ralph GREAT joy to receive recognition from you! Thank you Duffy and Rebecca for working with me on finalizing a date for this weekend, and all your support.

Mark Elliott and Staff – Public Relations, Tustin Unified School District. Thank you for connecting our group to Jorge Barrientos and Cathy Tran of The Register. Thank you Mark for assisting in locating teachers and recognizing our desire to assist you and Mr. Mintz improve educational opportunities for today’s Currie students. Mark, you opened many doors for me which helped build this project. Thank you.

These are just the individuals who helped with the planning of the weekend!

I still need to extend a Thank You to all the vendors who donated Gift Awards for our Casino and Golf Events. Stand By.

I hope all who gave in some way will receive a sense of pride by recognizing how this reunion gave so much not only to Mr. Turner, Ralph, our A.G. Currie Teachers, and Cobra Alumni, but also a sense of pride which was instilled in today’s teaching staff & students of A.G. CURRIE and the community.

It was not just one person or even just a small number of people who can receive credit for our experience. There was a vision and we ALL agreed to buy into this vision. I believe that if even just one person was left out, it would not have been a successful experience.

See you at the next new and improved Cobra Reunion! We’ll keep it simple, yet still fun next time around.

Keep that Cobra spirit going strong, and toss a dose of it into your wonderful life!
