| Wow. Wow! I was looking for something totally different on google and found this page! I had no idea this event was taking place. Would have loved to been a part of it. You all look great and it looks like you had a great time. Currie was amazing...I wouldn't trade those years or the subsequent years at THS for anything. I look back at that time and thinkg to myself "I wouldn't want to be one day younger." We were all very lucky to be there at that time. Feel free to say hi...I'm still in SoCal...still writing, and all's great. | |||

Wow, I wasn't aware of this event! How fun! My best memory of living in Tustin was the Tustin Meadows parade on 4th of July. What a great neighborhood!!! Of Currie, too much to mention. Mr. Frost and Mr. Stevenson, I had them at Thorman. Mr. Frost was cool. Mr. Stevenson was very nice to a shy girl (me), he helped to boost my self-esteem by his kind, encouraging words when I tried out for cheerleader. Will never forget that. People...Wade Wilson was so nice! Had a crush on Steve Parker! Soooo cute! LOL! Has anyone seen Gary Klein? BFF's Theresa Nehls and Lily Trujillo and Belinda Rankin! Wow, that was a long time ago, I loved Tustin! Moved to Anaheim after 9th grade and always missed my Tustin freinds. |

| This is long overdue but I have to say that this reunion was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I feel so blessed to have had an opportunity to go and see so many people that I grew up with and the faculty that I liked so much. Duane, there was never a dull moment with you around and Keith Huff, remember, I have your number! 867-5309 LOL. Don Norby, it was so great to catch up with you and your wife. I think out of everybody there, I have known you the longest. There are too many of you to name. All of you that I didn't know back then but had a chance to meet now, it was great and I hope we do it again soon. Val, I can't thank you and the rest of the team enough for all your hard work in putting this together... every person should be able to experience an event like this in their life, but then again, not everybody had the opportunity to go to such a great school with such a fantastic faculty. I look forward to seeing you all again next time.... | |||

| That was a blast! Where do I begin? First of all by thanking Robert Gardner (and Stephanie) for all his hundreds, if not thousands, of hours put into this thing. This guy worked non-stop for months getting things done. THANK YOU! By the time the reunion came around I had already been the recipient of the richest rewards of the event. I have made wonderful friends with the likes of Robert & Stephanie G., Mike & Pattie Lee, Doug Rundquist, and others. These people were the folks who made things happen. What a blast to be with the old Peppertree Gang - Mark Eley, Neal and Keith Huff, Mike Lee, Joe Sebastian, Robert Fletcher. We missed you Baldy and Gary! Casino Night was a blast and it was fun to be a "wrong-way" guy against good ol' John Deleva at the craps table. John, you were stellar and I hope to keep up with you on the witty emails. This guy is incredibly sharp witted and very fast on his feet. Thanks for being so willing and able to step in and make this happen. Can you believe that we got to see so many of the teachers who impacted our lives for the better? Mr. Ross, I wish I had realized back in school just how cool of a guy you are. Mr. DeLange it was so much fun having you re-do the voice overs for the "Real Currie Story" that you and Nate Hovland and Bob Boies put together 30 years ago! Wow! That was sooooo "UN P.C." - LOVE IT! Thanks to my wonderful friends "Six30Jam" for great dinner music. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday playing at my wedding. Without Robert Gardner and my fiance Alett (the most beautiful woman in the world), the videos simply would not have happened. Thank you Mr. Taylor for all the wonderful slides that you saved all these years. You were able to transport us all back to Currie as we remember it. Ralph, Mr. T and all the teachers....what can I say but thanks for being in our lives. Neal Huff you are a crazy man! My only regret is that the night had to come to an end. Thanks Robert for putting together a tribute to all of our missing Cobras. Thanks Ric Rude for everything and for being there for me and my kid! We missed you sorely Mr. Nate Hovland. It was a great pleasure to work with you on the slide show. Let's do this again Cobras and let's not wait another 30 years! | |||

Time flew by and I know there are some I never even said hello to. I am sorry for that. I guess we will have to do this again soon. To those of you that worked so hard to pull this reunion together, thank you so much! Your hard work made some wonderful memories for the rest of us. I hope to see you all again soon.

| Well, I'll tell you,I just don't know what to do with all my spare time now! Seriously though, I had the special opportunity to revisit the ghosts of my past. Lo and behold, some of them aren't ghosts afterall. So many people are responsible for making this weekend a success. Kris Lewis was responsible for much of the visual and audio presetations that were on hand for the evening with much help from his bride to be, Alett, Jill Carter-Juedes was responsible for getting the Register involved and for e-blasting everyone as much as was necessary to get them to the event, Mike Lee and his lovely wife Pattie managed the gifts and prizes,Doug Rundquist was responsible for coordinating the most surreal visit to our former campus, an event that I will never forget by the way, and to Ric Rude, who had a hand in the game the whole time... let me tell you all, this man has a heart like no other, I love you man, Mark Eley, Mark Bustamante and so many others who did so much that no one saw. Therese Hartman and Kim Morris-Velazquez... we missed you both terribly. Be well and know that you mean the world to so many. My wife Stephanie, who has volunteered so much time that no one has ever seen, thank you (I don't think just ONE pair of shoes is going to pay this one down). This was a multi-class reunion that was a thank you to Mr. Turner, Ralph and the teachers who taught us what it meant to be people with class. To Mr. Hovland, we missed you terribly, your students loved you then and love you now. What a privilege to have had your teaching. Thank you all. Et Madame Grumet-Cogan, je t'aime, je t'aime beaucoup. La petite dejuener aujourd'hui et fromage, pain et burre, pomme de terre et legumes. Let's keeps in touch. Be happy and healthy. Robert | |||

| Hey Cobras! I know we all have "lives" and that it was against all odds that so many former Currie students could clear their calendars to make a showing of support last weekend for Ralph, Mr. Turner and all those teachers who made an impact on us ... but wasn't it spectacular to go back and get a perspective of things from the point of view of a 7th/8th grade student/citizen. I feel like there is more continuity in my life than I did prior to the reunion. I am proud to be affiliated with such an awesome group and look forward to leaving that door open eternally! Kudos to Val Lopez and Robert Gardner for meeting a challenge so daunting in its scope. I was only too sad though that Kim Morris fell ill right before and returned home suddenly. She was sure a sweetheart of a friend to me in those days. Her parents took me to the river and it was the first time I water-skied. Memories... At least I CAN remember! | Many...Many...Thanks to Val and her gang for puting on such a fabulous weekend. My husband and I had such a GREAT time. Even after the hours of flight delays and lost luggage, it was SOOOOOO worth it. To my remarkable friends whom I could never forget~Mary Scaran, Lynelle Howard, Tracey Teichman, Michelle Grenda (sp?).....Thank you for making this trip one of a life time. Seeing Mark Cormany and Lance Stewart and Steve Roush, Rhonda Rodrigus well that was just icing on the cake! I just want to wish you all well and invite you to visit me any time here in Lancaster County PA. Or an e-mail if that is any easier :) May I also take this time to wish you all health and safety during a time of such trial as fires are raging all over S. California. We flew out Monday after driving through the ash and smoke in San Diego County. It was so scary. If any of our classmates are in need of anything, please let us all know....we are here for you!!!!! Thanks for a wonderful weekend! | |||

| WOW! What a weekend to remember. It was like stepping back in time (with a little less hair for some, lol). It was fantastic to have everyone together with no barriers - no nerd vs jock, etc... The start of the weekend was the event at the school. We were so graciously welcomed back to Currie. It was an awesome afternoon filled with some pretty great kids that were very grateful to have us there. Rick Rude made a very inspiring, no bull speech that I think will stick with many of the kids at Currie for years to come. Hopefully they will look back and see that he made a difference in their lives as well. The Casino night wrapped up a great Friday! I think it gave those of us an advantage for Sat night, cuz we already had the chance to mingle and get re-acquainted with old friends. I didn't attend the morning of golf, but heard a great time was had by all. Saturday night was AMAZING! Every time someone brought up a story it prompted another from someone else. To hear some of the memories people have taken from Currie left me with such a good feeling. None of us truly knew how much we impacted the others' lives. To hear the screams of joy and amazement throughout the night when someone recognized an old friend was such fun. The ultimate story was the video by the faculty - You had to be there! I'm still laughing!!!! To also hear that we got the "rookies" because none of the tenured teachers wanted to leave Utt and work for a new principle was another surprise. It makes more sense now as to why we had such a young teaching staff!! The friends we all made at 13 & 14 are some of the best friends any of us have ever had. I truly hope the connections we made this past weekend will continue through the years and we may even think about doing this again!!! Those of you that did not attend really missed out on being part of forming yet another great Currie memory!! | |||

THANK YOU, VAL, ROBERT & EVERYONE ELSE WHO HELPED in putting this great idea into a real event. I agree that there are just so many names of kids from back then, but I now have updated faces and memories of some wonderful (now) ADULTS. Some of those that really meant so much for me to see and give a heart felt hug to: Donn Taketa, Ed Eloe, John Deleva, Rob Collins, Darin Grebel, Doug Rundquist, Chuck Kenlein, Brian Owen, Mark Bustamante, Rhonda Rodriguez, Kelly Robinson, Sherri Ray Severino, Neal Huff; and of course Mr. Turner, Ralph, Laura Green & Warren Delange. | Holy cow, what a flashback. 30 years? You gotta be kidding me! I wish I knew of this shindig earlier. Not sure if I can schedule it now but will surely be thinking of you all. I had retired from nasty, greedy corporate management land, but after a year sitting around watching the news and griping about social injustice I decided to get off my duff and do something. Just weeks ago I received my LCSW and took a job with a Veteran's advocacy organization in San Francisco. I'm just now getting my feet wet, assuming a caseload of Vets seeking assistance with VA benefits, health and addiction problems, housing and vocational rehab. I have yet to meet all the social workers, lawyers, lobbyists, grant writers etc. in the building. There is quite a rush to be meet growing demand. I would be sorry to miss this reunion but consoled by finally working in a capacity I feel right about. BTW - Tustin was always a big Mil Town. If anyone knows of an OIF/OEF Vet running into trouble settling back in give 'em my name. Take Care All. Be in touch.

| After a short time as a drifter, I spend several years serving out a term for manslaughter at Atascadero State Penitentiary. After that I had several odd jobs traveling with carnivals and peddling methamphetamine on the side to raise funds for my sex-change operation. After a botched operation and several suicide attempts, I decided to join a monestary. They ultimately kicked me out because I could not do that whole "no talking" thing. After that, I moved to Northern California, went to law school, became a prosecutor for several years, got married, had two kids, started an Internet company (www.ebates.com) with another D.A. and then moved back to Tustin in 2002 where I'm now doing the full-time dad thing with the wife and kids. | Wow! What a nice surprise to read about and see faces I haven't seen in....well many many years. I live in Lancaster County PA and have since the summer we graduated (1977 I think). My Mom got the web site info from Mark Cormany's Mom....small world! I was just in Long Beach for a confereance and spent some time with Mary Scaran. I will try and get a hold of her and give her the heads up for the reunion. I am going to try and rearrange my schedule to attend, but if not I look forward to seeing lots of pictures. | |||

| wow, what a surprise to find this site. I was Teri Singer then...my parents owned the drug store on Red Hill (Red Hill Drugs). I only went to school with you guys for one year, but I had such a great time there. I remember the Juke box in the quad. I remember Mr. Rich, Mr. Sakaski, and Mrs. Off. I might have to get my yearbook out, but I think I went there from 80-81...does that mean I can still go to the reunion. Hey, if anyone remembers me, feel free to drop me an e-mail! I love all the then pictures! Teri | |||

This sounds like a lot of fun - great idea and a big "Thanks" to the planners. I've planned reunions before and I know it is a tremendous amount of work!!

| I'll buy a ticket that takes me back to the 70's anytime! What a wonderful time I had as a Cobra and growing up in Tustin. Do you think the kids at Currie today would say the same 30 years from now? NOT!!! It was the teachers, parents (even if we didn't like it), GREAT friends and the close knit community we were fortunate to grow up in that made the difference. Thank You! for that! Hope enough of the Jr. crowd (1980) make it there to help the Old Foggies (1973er's). LOL! | |||

| It's great to hear from long-lost friends! I had a great time at Currie thanks to friends, great teachers and staff like Ralph & Mr. Turner. I'll always remember my first day in Mrs. Clifton's class, as well as all the fun we had in Drama with Ms. Grumet. English & Yearbook with Mrs. Green were awesome, and I remember her in her Corvette (yours too, Mr. Turner!). I learned a lot in Social Studies with Mr. Bois & Mr. Hovland, and Science with Mr. Sakaske. I'm glad that many of my friends from Veeh elementary school joined me at Currie: John Ellis, Cara Zafuto, Diana Brady, VeAnne Virgin, Laurie Silver, Kira Woodruff, Tricia de la Pena, Kathy Bliss & others. | LMAO! from the way back machine - class of '78. I'm here representing for all the stoners, misfits, and miscreants. No, I wasn't an honor student, and niether were any of my friends, but at least we are still alive!!!Lots of things floating into my head that I haven't thought about in years! I had lots of firsts at currie: first joint, first beer (clean and sober now, thank you very much) first sexual experience... I remember one time holding hands with my girlfriend (what was her name??) and Captain Turner coming up to me and saying, "If you are going to hold hands with anyone, your going to hold hands with me!" I also remember getting sent home from school for wearing a t-shirt with a pot leaf on it. What did I know? i was just a stupid kid! does anyone remember Mrs. Off, and the rumor about what her husband's name was? now that was genius 13 year-old humor!!!! Also, thanks to that jukebox, every time I hear Black Dog by Led Zeppelin, I immediately flash back to the currie campus.... | |||

| Reunion is not healthy for alumni and other living things. Many of you will not recognize me but i recognize many. That is because i had two older sisters that preceded me during this time. So from a perimeter I saw you. But anyway, here is my take: This is crazy shit. Like a good flashback. Back back back I go.... Mr T: came up to me one day on the quad and said he'd tear up all my referrals if i went out for track. I declined Now, looking back i see that Mr Wonka was holding out the Golden Ticket and Charlie bagged (Rick and Busto know where that went...) what what what would have happened if i would have accepted... Ralphie: at 8th graduation we were partying in the alley on Carfax went to the dance and the gate was closed Ralphie wouldn't let us in. said "No. you boys ain't coming in" he didn't bust our balls but he knew.... Mr H: had the coolest class he's the reason that documentaries satisfy me there is much more (obviously) like that assistant principal (name?) that paddled me twice (with Kevin Woods) thin hair'd MF with glasses. anyway thanks for the jolt there are many people out there that could have impacted my life if i wasn't such a shit by recognizing it it slams me with that's why they call them "Teachers" (and yes Ralphie, that includes you) | |||

| A Currie Reunion Sounds Great! I'm up for it. I think I might be able to round up a few more Cobras (Carrie Cole, Mike Watt, and Scott Sperling). As a teacher I have actually sub taught at both Utt and Currie (A unique experience since I attended both and was one of the first at Currie when it opened). Is anyone else bothered by the fact that Currie changed its mascot and no longer is the Cobra? It is just wrong! We need to do something about it. I remember Mr. Turner's white, fast Cobra (cool car). Has anyone invited Mrs. Cheryl Tuttle (She may have a different last name now?) Just finished my Level One Special Ed. | Wow. When Cindy Tobias (Manus) told me about this, I couldn't believe it. I checked the site and it was incredible how many friends and acquaintances have shared their lives on this page. When I get some time I promise to do the same. I remember MR TURNER giving me a "double or nothing" opportunity on swats with his paddle. I lost and 2 classmates got to witness the my butt's encounter with Mr. Turner's paddle. I also remember Mr. Turner inviting me to a Father/Son Spaghetti Dinner with him. That meant more to me and any single event at Currie. He will always be a special man in my eyes. And Mrs. Green - who could ever forget her? I know I scared her, but it wasn't intentional. I loved her class. She was always going out of her way to help her students. I will have more memories to share when I put on my profile. Cindy, thanks again for telling me about this. | |||

| Hi Cobras! Valerie Lopez should get a Cobra Achievement Certificate for putting this reunion together...who ever heard of a Jr. High reunion, anyway? I still spend time each month at Currie subbing in Core, Art, and Special Ed. classes. The campus is a little older...trees in the quad are much taller. There's a few portable classrooms to hold the 1000 students; an entire sixth grade has been added! A newer "cougar" mascot has been adopted! The "time capsule" is still unmolested inside the stage wall and the bicentennial mosaic still graces the multi- room. Yearbooks from the golden seventies are still in the library! Currie was a special time in my forty-three years with the district...it was a new school site, with a new staff and you kids were briming with energy and optimism. We were all younger! Many fond memories remain for all of us of the happy days in the school that really got it right! See you in October! | |||

In fact, I can remember Mr. Bullen getting right up into my face one time and telling me that if I didn't "get it together" I would never amount to anything...Well, I've managed, bought and sold a few companies since then and I'd have to say - he was absolutely right. | WOW....What a fun thing...How is everyone? Cant wait to hear about everyone's life. I just drove by Currie the other day and was thinking about the days when, was the first time I had been in the area in years and now this...must mean something. ;-)

| Hi, Cobras, Great idea for a reunion! In addition to all you great people, I'd love to get Mrs. Clifton (who became Mrs. Boies) to the party, and Mrs. Sleeper, if she's still in the OC. I can't believe you guys are all in your forties. I stopped at 28. The gray hair is just the lighting. | |||

| Hi everyone, I can't wait to all get together again. Does anyone else remember the Aprils Fools trick we played on Mr. Turner when all the students AND teachers went next door and hid at Thorman while he was off site, only to come back to an empty campus? Don't know why but that still cracks me up. This thing needs spell check! The English teachers are horrified! LOL See you all in Oct. Cindy | |||
